Not only did their students showcase their skills in the VIP tent, but they also placed third in the Hersel Burger Competition and earned a $500 gift certificate. How cool is this? William Clark, manufacturing instructor at Bryant Career Technical Center, was honored last weekend by having his name painted on the RFK Racing No. 6 Build Submarines Ford driven by Brad Keselowski at Talladega Superspeedway. Clark, who trains and mentors students who are interested in maritime careers as well as other manufacturing jobs, was honored as part of the Build Giants initiative promoting maritime careers building U.S. Navy ships in Alabama. Congratulations to Mary G. Montgomery junior Blakely Stringer, the WKRG News 5 Scholar-Athlete of the Week! Stringer plays volleyball at MGM and has been a part of the South Alabama Volleyball Club for three years. She has a 4.3 GPA and takes dual enrollment classes through Bishop State Community College and the University of South Alabama.
