Culinary students from Davidson, Baker, Mary G. Montgomery, Citronelle, and Williamson high schools participated in the inaugural Wildcat Cookoff last month at Bishop State Community College. Williamson's Makayla Nash from Williamson won first place in baking and pastry. Baker's William Reed won the culinary competition, cooking a pork chop with mushroom garlic sauce, a Hasselback potato, and green beans. For grades 6-12, Sophia Perez-Zerquera won in the digital poster category, while Shelton Headrick was the traditional poster winner. In grades K-5, Council's Grace Messanh (pictured) won in digital, while the design of Wilmer's Aubrey Collier was selected in traditional.
