Students at Pathway 6-12 were encouraged and inspired this week by Timothy Alexander, a former high school football star who was paralyzed in a car accident and is now training for the Paralympics as a swimmer. Alexander overcame many other challenges in his own childhood, including juvenile detention and a house fire that left his family homeless, tp earn a master's degree and become an Emmy Award-winning motivational speaker. He challenged the students to chase their dreams and avoid the temptations and difficulties that stand in the way. "Will you choose to be bitter," he asked, "or will you choose to be better?" #LearningLeading #PerseverancePropelsProgress

Students in Mrs. Williamson's third-grade class at J.E. Turner Elementary have been learning about life cycles. What better way to explore that subject this month than with pumpkins? Students learned all about the pumpkin life cycle, researched fun pumpkin facts, explored the inside of a pumpkin, and tasted pumpkin pie! Then they visited the school’s pumpkin patch and each got to take home their very own pumpkin. #LearningLeading #PerseverancePropelsProgress
