Congratulations to Davidson High junior Ty Do, who led a successful Penny Wars fundraiser to benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals/USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital. Thanks to her hard work and the generosity of her classmates and teachers, she raised $1,043 just from loose change and cash donations! The Causey Middle School LOTC brought the holiday spirit to the William F. Green State Veterans Home earlier this month. On Monday, Savanah Andry of Eichold-Mertz School of Math, Science & Technology and Patricia Cushman of Council Traditional School read their award-winning essays at the Mobile County Commission meeting. Andry's essay placed first and Cushman's was second in the Mobile Bay Area Veterans Commission's Parade of Flags essay contest, which carried the theme “What Veterans Day Means to Me."
