Senior Health Science students from Alma Bryant High School participated this week in a Stop the Bleed course, made possible by a visit from Mobile County EMS. They learned vital life-saving skills, including how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, apply direct pressure, pack a wound, and properly use a tourniquet. Kate Shepard Elementary recently supported the battle against childhood cancer by holding a Madalyn Franklin Day. Students and staff honored the former Kate Shepard student, who battled neuroblastoma, by wearing gold shirts and accessories, and donating to receive a Childhood Cancer Awareness wristband in support of the cause. Zombies theme and its president, Chloe Stanley, designed a digital image. Bryant Manufacturing students cut the design using its CNC machine.
