A chef shared the art of cooking, nurses taught how to care for others, and Family Intervention Team members reminded them about the power of kindness and support. First-graders in Ms. Mohler’s class at Kate Shepard Elementary were hard at work in the construction zone last week to celebrate a successful first quarter. Students built houses with 3D shapes, completed building inspections to identify shapes, and used bulldozers to plow through addition and subtraction. They also put their grammar and reading skills to the test and worked together to construct complete sentences. It’ll still be a little early for fall flowers, and inventory will be limited on veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, collards, mustard, and cabbage. But they'll have plenty of pansies, mixed pots, perennials, dianthus, and snapdragons to add some color and life to your fall gardens.
