Congratulations to the students and teams who excelled in the recent fifth-grade Math Competition! Council Traditional School won Division 3 and was the Overall Winner, while O'Rourke Elementary won Division 2 and took second place overall and Tanner Williams Elementary won Division 1. Semmes Elementary took first place in Ciphering, Florence Howard was honored as the Best New School team. Collins-Rhodes was named Most Improved and Forest Hill, Wilmer, Dodge and Orchard shared the Most School Spirit award. Fifteen individual students earned perfect scores on the written exam. Day 1 of the Be Pro Be Proud Alabama tour was a huge success for MCPSS Career Academies! Middle school students from Scarborough, Causey, and Burns stepped inside the interactive mobile workshop to explore hands-on career opportunities. From operating simulators to learning about high-demand skilled professions, students were engaged, curious, and excited about their futures.
Afterward, students toured Bryant Career Technical Center, getting a firsthand look at the many programs and pathways available right here in our community.
