Mrs. Easterling’s students at Mary G. Montgomery High School took on a hands-on challenge called “Soft Skills & AI – Building Together” to see just how important soft skills are in the workplace. Students were given unique roles, ranging from Open Communicator to Conflict Creator, Dependable & Reliable to Not Willing to Adapt. They then worked in two companies:

-- Company A used AI-powered robots to help with production.
-- Company B relied solely on live employees.

The goal was to fill customer orders as quickly as possible while navigating different personalities, communication styles, and work habits. The takeaway: Technology can speed things up, but soft skills are the real power tools in the workplace! #PerseverancePropelsProgress

Citronelle High School celebrated its AP Scholars at a ceremony on Wednesday. To be named an AP Scholar, a student must earn a score of 3 or higher on at least three Advanced Placement exams. The College Board’s AP program allows academically prepared students to take rigorous college-level courses, and they can receive credit from most colleges and universities if they earn a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam, which are graded on 5-point scale. Of the school's 14 AP Scholars, Bryant Jackson and Percy Rivers were named AP Scholars with Honor for earning a score of 3 or higher on at least four AP exams, and Jackson Melvin was named an AP Scholar with Distinction for earning a 3 or higher on at least five AP exams. #PerseverancePropelsProgress #LearningLeading

Mrs. Callen’s third-graders at Collier Elementary started the year with a lesson on teamwork and communication. They were challenged to “Save Fred,” a gummy worm stranded at sea. Using only two paper clips, they had to flip Fred’s boat (a cup) and secure his life preserver (a Life Saver). Every group worked hard, collaborated well, and successfully rescued Fred! #PerseverancePropelsProgress
