Eight new leaves were added this week to the Giving Tree at MCPSS Central Office, which recognizes educators who were named Teacher of the Year or have earned state or national awards. Joining the tree this year are: MCPSS Teachers of the Year Jennifer Asberry of Council Traditional, Daniela Yunker of Barton Academy and Dr. Chelsea Tanous of Davidson High; Stephanie Bondora of Davidson, the Alabama State Science Teacher of Promise;
Brenda Box of Mary G. Montgomery, the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals Assistant Principal of the Year; Keisha Mack of B.T. Washington Middle and Dr. Mary Alice Pouliot of Barton Academy, who each won the LAMP Award of Exceptional Service to Alabama Libraries; and Jae Lynne Yerena of Grand Bay Middle, the Alabama Art Education Association's New Art Educator of the Year. They were joined at the ceremony by their principals, MCPSS Superintendent Chresal D.
