📣 Reminder: Camp Causey is THIS WEEK! 🐯
We can’t wait to welcome our incoming 6th graders to Camp Causey on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM each day!
🗓️ During Camp Causey, students will:
✅ Meet some of their teachers
✅ Tour the school
✅ Practice opening PE lockers
✅ Get a head start on their Tiger journey!
👟 Drop-Off Info (July 16 Only): On Wednesday, July 16, parents must park and walk students into the gym to sign in. This helps us ensure a smooth and safe check-in process for Day 1!
🚗 On Thursday, July 17, carline drop-off will be used. All traffic must enter from Jeff Hamilton Road — see the map below for directions.
👕 Dress Code Reminder: Please follow school dress code guidelines:
🚫 No short shorts
🚫 No jeans with holes
🚫 No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or crop tops
✅ Wear school-appropriate pants, shorts, and shirts
👟 Tennis shoes aren’t required, but they’re the best choice for comfort and walking
🧥 Students may bring a jacket if needed
👕 T-Shirts: Students who paid before the deadline will receive their Camp Causey t-shirt on Day 1! Students that paid after the deadline will receive theirs after school begins.
🍕 Lunch: Pizza and water will be provided for all students both days!
🥪 Students with food allergies or dietary restrictions may bring their own lunch.
👨👩👧 Parent Meeting: Parents, join us on Wednesday, July 16 at 11:30 AM in the gym for a helpful info session about the upcoming school year.

Causey Middle School is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Kim Cole as a new 6th grade Language Arts teacher!
Mrs. Cole, who shared that she is honored to be joining the Causey family, brings 27 years of experience in elementary education, including the past 18 years at Hutchens Elementary.
She shared:
“I’m excited to begin this new chapter at the middle school level and share my passion for teaching and literacy in a new setting. I am deeply committed to building strong, positive relationships with my students and helping them grow both academically and socially. I am looking forward to an incredible year of learning and growth at Causey.”
Outside the classroom, Mrs. Cole recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Darryl, and enjoys spending time with family.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Kourtney Reed to the Causey Middle School family! She will be joining us as a new special education teacher, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board.
Ms. Reed brings one year of special education classroom experience as well as two years working as a school counselor. Her experience gives her a deep understanding of both academic and emotional support—making her a strong advocate for the students she serves.🐾
When asked about her new position and joining the Causey staff, Ms. Reed had this to say, "Hello, my name is Kourtney Reed and I am so enthused to join the Tiger family. At on-site registration, you can:

If your student received a summer school application in their report card, this post is for you. Causey Middle School will be hosting summer school this year for the following middle schools: Causey, Semmes, Scarborough, Burns, Grand Bay, Alba, Hankins
Registration for summer school is Wednesday, June 25, 2025; 7:30AM - 1:30PM. Registration is mandatory and the application is required. Please bring in a copy of the student's final report card if available. Further information about dates and buses will be given at registration. Questions email bfriedrich@mcpss.com.

The Causey Archery team has been in Myrtle Beach, SC this week competing in the 2025 NASP World Competition. Ending their season in excellence, our Bullseye Team is bringing home the 1st Place Title out of 60 teams, while our 3D team is bringing home the 2nd Place Title out of 62 teams. These teams have put in a lot of work this season and it has paid off.
6th Grade Team Member, Gavin Spann, is also coming home with a $500 scholarship win.
These dedicated athletes are just part of what makes Causey the best middle school in Alabama.
Special shout out to coaches, Mrs. Counselman and Mrs. Williams, for all the time you have put in with the team to be the best. Thank you also to all the parents, guardians, and families that have supported the team throughout the year. We couldn't do this without you.
