Twenty-one MCPSS teachers are newly certified National Board Certified Teachers! National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.
The newly certified teachers are: Clea Beasley of Allentown, Natasha Bennett and Carolyn Wescovich of Alma Bryant, Krissy Brown of Gilliard, Kastala Brown and Jordan Ney of Griggs, Kiala Burnette of Causey, Rayshundra Davis of Dodge, Hilary Hardy and Christian Little of Bryant Career Technical Center, Brittany Ivey of Collier, Jimmerlee Kennedy of J.E. Turner, Tomasine Lewis of Just 4, Jordan Lewis of Breitling, Kimberly Litto of Dauphin Island, Heather Pohlmann Reilly and Adrienne Smith of Pearl Haskew, Ambria Reed of Forest Hill, Meredith Rogers of Theodore, Kelly Stubblefield of Davidson, and Amber Thomas of Castlen.
Their names will join those of over 100 other National Board Certified Teachers in the district on the star-studded wall outside the Cypress Auditorium in the Professional Development Building.
Eleven other MCPSS teachers renewed their certification this year. They are: Kimberly Buck and Krista Potteiger of Meadowlake, Stacey Davis and Andrea Woodbury of Alma Bryant, Tamara Gurley of J.E. Turner, Hailee Kuntz and Matthew Lowell of Davidson, Heather LaFoy and Kimberly Robison of Collier, Jill Robinson Leiser of Baker, and Kelly Sutherland of Dodge.
