Project Outreach started the day on the right foot—literally! Friday morning brought the energy with a dance party and plenty of snacks. Is there anything better than line dancing with your friends before 1st period? We don’t think so! ✨

✨ Senior Spotlight: LaNiya Wright ✨
After graduation, LaNiya is keeping things simple and focused—she’ll be working this summer before starting her next chapter at Bishop State, where she plans to pursue nursing with a goal of working in pediatrics.
She has been deeply involved in NJROTC since her freshman year, earning the Character Achievement Award as an NS2 her sophomore year—an honor she is especially proud of. As a senior, she also joined the archery team and became a member of NTHS, even earning her CNA license along the way!
LaNiya says she will miss Coach Johnston and Ms. Henley the most, sharing that they’ve been a constant source of support, laughter, and encouragement since her freshman year.
Her favorite memories include the junior and senior pep rallies and Senior Night—moments filled with energy, pride, and Warrior spirit. She also gives a special shoutout to Mrs. Callais, who she describes as not only an amazing teacher, but an amazing person.
Words of Wisdom from LaNiya:
“Always put God and yourself first. Be yourself—don’t change for anything or anyone. Don’t let anything hold you back.”

✨Senior Spotlight: Cheyenne Dupree ✨
Cheyenne Dupree is ready to take the next step toward her future with plans to attend college and pursue a career as a veterinarian!
She found her place at Davidson in JROTC—a program that turned into something truly meaningful. Through JROTC, she built lasting friendships, stepped outside her comfort zone, and created memories she’ll always carry with her.
One of Cheyenne’s proudest accomplishments has been breaking out of her shy shell and fully embracing new experiences. From fun moments like Senior Skip Day to the everyday connections she made, she made the most of her high school journey.
She is especially grateful for the impact of Ms. Scott, Mr. Towler, and Ms. Callais, with Mr. Towler leaving a lasting impression by always encouraging her to be herself and creating a classroom where she felt seen, supported, and valued.
Her advice to underclassmen: “Make good memories—you will only experience this once in your life.”

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Sariah Hossain 🎓
This fall, Sariah will attend Harvard University, where she plans to double major in comparative literature and economics.
Her college acceptances speak to her academic excellence: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins as a Hodson Trust Scholar, Georgetown University, and other top institutions.
At DHS, she served as President of Thespians and Fundraising Chair for the SGA, and as DIMUN Chair, while also founding her own nonprofit, Invictus Artists' Guild. This year, the organization held its first production—Hamlet—with Sariah starring in the lead role.
Her accomplishments extend far beyond campus. She was a National Semifinalist in the English-Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare Contest, placing in the top 43 in the nation in 2025, and she represented DHS at National History Day, placing as a national honorable mention in 2025.
Sariah credits Mrs. Banashak for always encouraging her to take on challenges and believe in herself, and gives a special shoutout to Mr. Pouliot for reminding her that thinking differently is a strength.
Her favorite DHS memory? Spending time with her friends in IB Leadership.
Advice to future Warriors: “You shouldn’t change yourself to fit anyone else’s expectations.” ✨

✨Senior Spotlight: Shiloh Malone✨
Shiloh Malone is heading to Jacksonville State University this fall, where she plans to major in biology as she continues her journey toward becoming a veterinarian
Over the past four years, Shiloh is most proud of her perseverance—never giving up and staying committed to keeping her grades up, even when it wasn’t easy.
One teacher who made a lasting impact is Ms. Callais, who Shiloh shares was always there when she needed someone to talk to—especially during moments when opening up felt tough. She is so grateful for Mrs. Callais and the support she provides to students who may not always have someone else to lean on.
For underclassmen, Shiloh offers this advice: stay on top of your work and don’t fall behind—it’s hard to catch up. And most importantly, don’t take your time here for granted.

Davidson’s first-ever class of AP Seminar students recently completed their culminating exam! With over 80 dedicated 10th graders enrolled in the course, this group has set a strong foundation for what’s to come.
Throughout the year, these students went far beyond a single test—collaborating on a group presentation, delivering an individual research presentation, and completing two in-depth research papers, all submitted to College Board as part of this rigorous course.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work!

Students in AP Language turned up the creativity as they prepared for their exam by analyzing famous Disney songs through the lens of SPACE CAT 🐱✍️—examining speaker, purpose, audience, context, exigence, choices, appeals, and tone. From powerful ballads to classic sing-alongs, they transformed lyrics into thoughtful rhetorical essays, proving that strong analysis can be found in every story!

🎉 Big congratulations to seniors Kayden Jones and Jaidyn Huff! 🎉
Both students have been awarded apprenticeships with Austal Shipbuilding through a partnership with MCPSS and Bryant Career Technical Center. This opportunity places them among the top students selected to begin their careers right out of high school.
Kayden and Jaidyn truly represent what it means to be Warrior strong—skilled, prepared, and ready for the workforce. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and their decision to continue Mobile’s proud tradition of supporting the building of America’s Navy and strengthening our defenses. ⚓👏
