🎶School's Out for Summer ... but for those who like to plan ahead ... here's your summer reading, enrichment, school supply, and uniform info for the upcoming school year!

Our Middle School Scholars’ Bowl Team has had a remarkable year earning 1st place in our region, performing among the top in our state, and qualifying for Nationals! They recently returned from the NAQT Middle School Scholars’ Bowl National Championship in Chicago, Illinois! Our #bartonexplorers competed against teams from all over the country and even competed (and won) against a team from Korea. Our Barton Scholars represented us well by quickly adapting to a new style of play and ultimately earning four wins against national and international teams. In addition, due to the generous support of the Barton Academy Foundation, our students were able to spend a couple of extra days in Chicago to explore the city.

Our Barton V5 Team - “Measure Once, Cut Twice” - embodied our school's mission of exposing our students to “Advanced World Studies” as they competed in Dallas at the Vex V5 Worlds Middle School Competition. In their final qualification match, our #bartonexplorers were paired with a team from Jiangxi, China. They used Google translate to strategize. Congrats to Mrs. Bolton, Mrs. Leousis, and our entire Barton Robotics Team on a phenomenal year! A special thanks to the Barton Academy Foundation and Barton PTO for supporting our students as they represented us on the world stage.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nicholson who recently received exciting news concerning three professional development grant opportunities! This summer, Mrs. Nicholson will be participating in a two-day workshop on integrating the science of modern food production into her classroom - soil & water quality, high-tech science careers, biotechnology in agriculture, and biofuels. Mrs. Nicholson also received a scholarship to participate in the “Mountains to the Gulf” expedition, learning about the ecology of Alabama. Additionally, she received word that she has been selected to be an X-STEM Fellow 25-26 for the Gulf Coast.
