🏫 Parenting Day 2025: We invite you to join us for Parenting Day 2025, with options to participate in person or virtually. This event provides valuable insight into how you can support your child’s academic growth, social-emotional development, and strategies for reinforcing learning at home. Report cards will also be distributed during the 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. sessions. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to ensure continued progress.
🏀 Basketball Games: Our Wildcats will travel to Hankins on Monday, October 20, and Burns on Thursday, October 23. Both games begin at 4:00 p.m. Let’s come out and cheer on our student-athletes as they showcase their hard work, teamwork, and school spirit.
🟥 Red Ribbon Spirit Week: We’ll celebrate Red Ribbon Spirit Week from October 27–31! The participation fee is $5.00, whether your child joins for one day or all five days. This week is designed to promote healthy choices and school pride. See the flyer for daily themes—students may begin bringing their money this week.

The Flag Football Championship Game will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at LeFlore, as we take on Chastang. Come out and cheer on our Lady Wildcats as they compete for the championship title! Your support makes all the difference for our student-athletes.
🏀 Basketball Season Opener
Our first basketball game of the season is Thursday, October 16, at 4:00 p.m. at Calloway-Smith as we take on Accel. We look forward to a great season and encourage everyone to come out and support our Wildcats as they showcase their hard work and school spirit.

Cheer Competition: Our cheerleaders will perform at the 2025 AHSAA South Super Regional Cheer Competition on Thursday, October 9. We are extremely proud of their hard work, commitment, and dedication to excellence! In addition, they will participate in the practice competition today at Baker High School at 2:00 pm. Please continue to encourage them as they represent our school with pride, and we invite you to come out and support them at both events to show our cheerleaders how much we appreciate their efforts and school spirit.
End of Quarter/Virtual Day: Friday, October 10, marks the end of the first quarter. It will also be a Virtual Learning Day for all students.

Daily Attendance: Please ensure that your child attends school every day. Frequent absences or early check-outs can negatively impact academic progress and disrupt learning. Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student achievement.
Class Notes and Homework: Class notes are an important resource for learning and should be reviewed daily to strengthen understanding. Please check your child’s notes regularly. Remember, homework is not always sent home as worksheets or practice problems. Reviewing and studying class notes is also considered homework and must be taken seriously. Volleyball Games: Tomorrow at 4:00 p.m., we will host Grand Bay and Hankins for a tri-match. On Wednesday, September 10, we will travel to Alba to face Alba and Causey.
Flag Football Game: Our first flag football game will take place on Tuesday, September 9, here at Calloway-Smith as we take on Alba.
Football Game: On Thursday, September 11, we will play Denton in our official Homecoming game.

This week is a jam-packed week full of learning and excitement at Calloway-Smith!
We will host our Meet & Greet and Title I Meeting on Monday, August 25, at 5:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join us virtually at 9:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. The meeting link will be available on our school’s website and posted on Facebook tomorrow.
