📢 Important Reminder for Friday, March 13th & Monday, March 16th - There will be no in-person school on Friday, March 13th. It will be a scheduled Virtual/Distance Learning Day. Students will receive paper assignments to complete at home, and all work should be returned on Tuesday, March 17th. Thank you for your support as we continue learning—no matter where we are! Also, students will be out of school on Monday, March 16th for a scheduled teacher workday.

REMINDER FOR TOMORROW: Spring Pictures Are Coming! Spring Pictures will be held tomorrow, March 4th! Students may wear school-appropriate spring attire for their photos, but they must bring a full uniform including uniform shoes to change into after pictures. We can't wait to see those bright spring smiles!

ACAP Summative state testing will be March 18th through April 24th. 2nd through 5th grade ELA tests will be March 24th-26th. 2nd through 5th grade Math tests will be March 31st-April 1st. The 4th grade Science tests will be April 7th-8th. Students testing in small groups or one-on-one will have alternate testing dates. Please consult your child's teacher if this applies to your child. It is VERY IMPORTANT that students are on time and present on testing days!

We invite all grandparents to join us for our Grandparents Day Celebration on March 10th! Our students feel so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents in their lives, and we can’t wait to celebrate the special bond they share. 💛

Schedule:
☘️ 8:45–10:30 AM – 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, Tabatt, and Cate
☘️ 12:30–2:25 PM – Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and SPED

All grandparents should enter through the gym when they arrive.

South Coast Church is hosting another after school outreach program for 3rd through 5th grade students. It will be every Tuesday from 3:10-3:40 PM starting on February 24th and go through April 7th. For more information and to sign up use this link: https://shorturl.at/lGaSx

We will be out of school to observe Mardi Gras break February 16th - February 20th. Students return on Monday, February 23rd to continue 3rd quarter.

Elsie Collier Elementary School families, We just kicked off the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge! Get ready to change and save lives! Sign up today and earn your child a wristband! Through Finn’s Mission, students will learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize a stroke. If 50% of our families sign up, our school will earn a $500 gift certificate for physical activity and recess equipment to support the health of our school community. Parents, MCPSS has been monitoring the weather all weekend and has been in discussion with Mobile County emergency officials regarding the forecast for Monday. Based on the most recent updates, we will have school on Monday, January 26, on our normal schedule. Students are expected to wear their uniforms, but to stay warm, they will have the option of layering either under or over their uniforms. We will continue to monitor the weather and the roads. We will be out of school to observe Winter Break December 22nd through January 5th. Students will return to start 3rd quarter on Tuesday, January 6th.

We will not have Ice Cream Day on Wednesday this week due to class parties. Ice cream will be sold on Thursday, December 18th. Students can bring in $1 to purchase ice cream for snack on that day.
