MCPSS has been monitoring the weather all weekend and has been in discussion with Mobile County emergency officials regarding the forecast for Monday. Based on the most recent updates, we will have school on Monday, January 26, on our normal schedule.
Students are expected to wear their uniforms, but to stay warm, they will have the option of layering either under or over their uniforms.
We will continue to monitor the weather and the roads. We look forward to seeing each of our students tomorrow.

SAVE THE DATE:
We will be celebrating our students' achievements from the first semester on Friday, January 16th! Students will be recognized for Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, and/or meeting their AR goal. Guests will need to enter through the gym doors. Doors will open 5-10 minutes before each scheduled ceremony.
Ceremony Times:
- 1st Grade at 12:30 PM
- 2nd & 3rd Grades at 1:15 PM
- 4th & 5th Grades at 2:00 PM
Teachers will be sending home an award notification letter to families if their child will be receiving an award on this day. We look forward to celebrating our students' hard work and success with you!


We will be out of school to observe Winter Break December 22nd through January 5th. Students will return to start 3rd quarter on Tuesday, January 6th.


We will not have Ice Cream Day on Wednesday this week due to class parties. Ice cream will be sold on Thursday, December 18th. Students can bring in $1 to purchase ice cream for snack on that day.

December 15th - Students can wear holiday accessories with their uniform.

December 17th - Students can wear school appropriate pajamas with school shoes.

We’re excited to share that our school earned a jeans day on Friday, December 12th after successfully collecting over 200 toys for children in need through the Stuff the Bus campaign!

Tomorrow is the LAST day for Stuff the Bus! If our school can collect 200 new, unwrapped toys by TOMORROW, December 10th, students will earn a jean day on Friday, December 12th. All donated toys go towards children in need - thank you for helping us spread holiday cheer!


Don’t forget about Stuff the Bus! The last day to turn in a new, unwrapped toy is this Wednesday, December 10th.

We will be out of school to observe Thanksgiving break November 24th through November 29th.


Here are the Thanksgiving lunch schedules for Wednesday, November 19th and Thursday, November 20th. All guests will enter through the front door entrance to sign in. Guests will then meet students in their classroom to walk down to the cafeteria. Don’t forget to RSVP using the paper that was sent home with students. NO OUTSIDE FOOD CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE CAFETERIA. We can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends!

We will be out of school to observe Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th.


We will have a scheduled Virtual/Distance Learning Day on Monday, November 10th. No in-person school on this day. Students will receive paper assignments to complete at home. This work will need to be returned on Wednesday, November 12th.


Students may wear a red, white, and/or blue shirt this Friday, November 7th, in honor of our Veterans Day Parade! Please remember that uniform bottoms must still be worn.


This week we’ll begin Practice ACAP State Testing for 2nd–5th grades. Our main testing days are November 4th–6th — please make sure students are present and on time! Small group testing will continue throughout November, and teachers will notify parents/guardians if this applies to their child. Let’s show what we know!


Join us for our annual Veterans Day parade on November 7th! If you have a relative who has served or is currently serving in the military we would love for them to come participate in our parade and be honored. We will start lining parade participants up at 8:45 AM on the carpool side of the building after carpool ends. The parade will start at 9:00 AM. Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness will be this Friday, October 24th. Students can wear a pink shirt with uniform bottoms.


Red Ribbon week will be October 27th through October 31st. During Red Ribbon Week, staff and students will participate in themed dress up days to focus on making positively healthy choices and saying no to drugs. Monday will be "Rally in Red," so students can wear a red shirt with uniform bottoms. Tuesday will be "Say 'Peace Out' to Drugs," so students can wear neon or tie-dyed shirts with uniform bottoms. Wednesday will be "Team Up Against Drugs," so students can wear their favorite team colors or jersey with uniform bottoms. Thursday will be "Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug-Free," so students can wear a tacky tourist top and accessories with uniform bottoms. Friday will be "Say Book to Drugs," so students can wear their favorite Halloween colored shirt (orange, purple, or black) with uniform bottoms. Students must wear uniform bottoms everyday.

The Collier Fall Festival is Thursday, October 9th. Join PTO for a fun-filled day at Collier for our annual Fall Festival. This year we will have many fun games and prizes, visits with Trail Maids, popcorn and Capri Sun for every child, options to ride the train, dunk a teacher, & more!
Entry fee options (please only pay for students who reside with you):
- 1 child: $10
- 2 children: $18 for both
- 3+ children: $25 for all
