Students are required to wear their blazer and tie with their regular uniform every Wednesday.

Our Suit & Soar Wednesdays will begin August 13.
Students will also be required to wear their blazer and tie for their yearbook photo on Monday, August 18.

Congratulations to these students who applied to be a part of the History Team. They will be conducting independent history research projects as a part of the National History Day program under the guidance of Mrs. Howell. The first meeting will be Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from the bus dismissal bell until 4:30pm in Mrs. Howell’s classroom on the bottom 6th grade hallway.

Congratulations to our Bullseye and 3D Archery Teams! We are looking forward to a great season!

Come to our first Worship on Wednesdays (WOW) meeting on September 3rd at 6:50 in Mrs. Gray's room!

This group is partnered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but you do not need to be an athlete to join. Everyone is welcome! We meet every Wednesday morning and spend time in fellowship, and singing devotional songs. If you're interested in joining send a message to Mrs. Gray through Thrillshare or Schoology.

Scholars Bowl Tryouts will be September 3rd and 4th from 2:50-3:45 P.M. each day. There is a $5.00 tryout fee. The tryouts will be held in Mrs. Gray's room, 117.

Scholars' Bowl is open to all grades. Scholars Bowl is a competition in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more.

There will be a "No Demerit Reward Day" Friday, August 29!

Students who have earned no demerits will be allowed to wear tennis shoes and their favorite team jersey. Students must wear school bottoms.

A NEW reminder about the 8th grade trip!

The trip is starting to fill up, and there are ONLY 13 spots left. The original deadline was a little flexible, and parents can still sign their 8th graders up for this awesome opportunity to visit Universal Orlando.

Information about the Trip--
The cost will cover a 3 night stay at Springhill Suites, park admission for 3 days, breakfasts each morning, and a meal card for $100 that can be used in the parks and/or CityWalk. (Please note: the final cost of the trip is based on how many people are in a hotel room.) There will be a payment schedule available.

A deposit of $225 per person must be made by August 13 to reserve a spot. The registration link is provided below-

Remember, the trip deposit must be made by August 13th to reserve a spot for this trip. Space is limited, and we must have a total of 45 students and parent chaperones to make the trip happen. Parent chaperones will be expected to oversee their child and a very small group of students.

Once the trip minimum is fulfilled we will have a meeting with students and parent chaperones to discuss further details.

History Team allows students to learn critical thinking, writing, and research skills by producing a project that may be entered into the local National History Day competition. Students will become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, or exhibit developers as they create unique contemporary expressions of history related to the theme of “Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History.”

Students who are interested in applying for the History Team can pick up an application from their social studies teacher. The team will be announced on the website and via social media the week after Labor Day. Mrs. Howell will send more information to the selected team members via the Rooms feature in the MCPSS app.

Boys' Tryouts will be held on September 4 from 3:00-5:30 P.M. You must have a completed Dragonfly account. The tryout fee is $10.

Yearbook picture day is Monday, August 18! Students must wear their blazer and tie to be photographed. (They will not be required to wear them again Wednesday next week (8/20) because Monday (8/18) will serve as Suit and Soar Day!)
