Nine Mobile County Public Schools students were among the 20 local winners of $1,000 Bayfest Music Festival scholarships.

The students sent in audition tapes and were recognized at Bayfest earlier this month.

MCPSS winners are:

  • Tiana Bryant, a senior at Murphy High
  • Jairus Dixon, a freshman at Baker High
  • Jacob Hall, a junior at Baker High
  • Anthony R. Lopez, a junior at Alma Bryant High
  • Bradley Mills, a senior at Baker High
  • Amelia Nolan, a freshman at Alma Bryant High
  • Franklin Pratt, a senior at Murphy High
  • Joshua Sneed, a senior at Murphy High
  • Morgan Taylor, a sophomore at Davidson

The students can save the money for college or use them to pay for music lessons or to otherwise advance their musical talent.
