If you need in-person help, you MUST BRING two proofs of residency:
One proof with physical address (choose one): property tax/deed, mortgage/lease agreement, or home insurance.
One additional proof (choose one): utility bill or deposit receipt (water/gas/phone/electric/cable/garbage), bank statement, or IRS income tax records.
If you do not have a utility bill, acceptable alternatives include: Social Security/DHR/case correspondence, TANF/food stamp documentation, bank account or loan statement, investment certificate, employer verification or pay stub, or two major credit card account statements (counted together as one proof).

Our MJE family continues to grow. Please help us welcome Mrs. Ashton Gibbs. She is excited to join the McDavid-Jones Elementary family as the new Special Education Preschool Teacher. She brings 14 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping young learners grow, explore, and reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. She is so excited to be coming back to preschool. When not at school you can find her spending time with family, boating, tending to her chickens, baking sourdough, thrifting, and reading. Teaching is her ministry and she can’t wait to see what the 26-27 school year has in store. She has a B.S in Special Education Early Childhood from the University of Alabama. We would like to welcome Mrs. Krystal Kittrell to our First Grade team. She absolutely loves to teach. She comes to us holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master's degree from William Carey University. She has taught for 28 years in the Wayne County School District in Kindergarten, first grade and fourth grade at Buckatunna Elementary. She is excited about this new adventure as a Wildcat. She has two children, Kerrington and Klein. Kerrington is in her second year of medical school and Klein is a welder preparing to become a CWI. Welcome to our MJE Wildcat family!

She comes to us holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mobile. Ms. Bullard has taught kindergarten through third grade and currently enjoys reading, spending time with family, and watching Alabama football with her father. McDavid Jones Elementary would like to welcome Mrs. Kristen Hayaski as our 3-5 Media Specialist. She holds a B .S. in Elementary & Special Education, from the University of South Alabama and has taught for over 10 years. Mrs. Hayaski has been married to her husband, Blaine, for 11 years, and they have a 7-year-old son, Benson. As a family, They spend most of Their time at the ballpark. She also enjoys painting, crafting, and other creative projects.
Ms. Thorntons First Grade engaged in a hands-on two month science project, planting zinnia seeds in March and repotting them today. This activity helped the students understand the plant life cycle, plant parts, and needs, nurturing patience and stewardship.
LIFESOUTH will be on campus Monday, May 18th from 7:00-2:30 for a blood drive. All donors will receive a t-shirt. Look for the Bloodmobile in front of campus.

As part of our Leadership Outreach Project, our kindergarten classes collected Coke tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and raised an amazing 300 pounds of tabs! McDavid-Jones PACE students celebrated "Changes through the Ages" through several plays teaching about mythology from Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece.
Students also showcased projects completed throughout the year.

Warburg Micro Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that can affect a child’s vision, development, muscle tone, and learning abilities. Children with this syndrome often face many challenges, but they also show incredible strength, perseverance, and resilience every single day.
We are so proud of Viktor and all the progress he continues to make in our classroom. He works hard, brings joy to those around him, and reminds us daily that every child can learn, grow, and succeed in their own unique way.

Mrs. Helton's Pre-K class made an art project for our fabulous music teacher, Mr. Medina. We would like to display their hard work. Each music note is a different student's hand print and they wrote each note to the tune of "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Their project touched Mr. Medina's heart and brought the biggest smile to his face.
Last week our 1st graders shared how they are building fluency one poem at a time. Each class had their time to shine by reciting poetry to a small audience.
