Mrs. Peek is a native of Bayou La Batre, Alabama and graduated from Alba School where she attended school from first through twelfth grade.
She is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of South Alabama. During her career in the Mobile County Public School System she has been a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent and led the Division of Academic Affairs which includes the Divisions of Curriculum and Instruction, Federal and Special Programs, Staff Development and PreK-12 School Improvement and Accountability. As a note of interest, Martha’s family members have been educators in the Mobile County Public School System for three generations combining a total thus far of 104 years of continuous school service. Martha counts her years working with the children in the schools and the privilege of being a teacher as the most rewarding experiences in her career. She says, “Since time never stands still, progress will continue toward meeting all academic goals in readiness for the annual high stakes tests and to ensure that all students successfully complete this school year ready to move to the next grade level or graduate."
Martha is married to Tyler Peek and continues to live in the community and area of the county that she has always called home.
