TITLE ELEMENTARY SUPERVISOR
ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
260 DAYS - 8 HOURS PER DAY
  This is a Certified Administration Position
DUTIES

The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Establishes and implements clear goals and specific achievement objectives for the area(s) supervised.
  • Provides effective supervision of all areas of the elementary curriculum.
  • Identifies and coordinates staff development for all teachers.
  • Models, assists, and monitors the implementation of the standards based curriculum.
  • Ensures implementation of appropriate instruction and compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains an effective comprehensive elementary program.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal relations skills.
  • Plans and accomplishes personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics.
  • Takes a leadership role in improving education.
  • Performs routine duties in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Serves as a resource person in the areas supervised.
  • Demonstrates effective application of leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Prepares and administers budgets.
  • Performs other duties as identified.
QUALIFICATIONS Must have a Valid Alabama Leadership Certificate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or Supervision.

Must have a Valid Alabama Professional Certificate in Elementary Education.

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of classroom experience teaching Elementary Education.

Must have a satisfactory score on MCPSS Administrative Writing Exercise.

Must provide three (3) letters of professional references within the last three years. (One from current immediate supervisor; the other two from other supervisors who are knowledgeable about work experience and performance).

Must provide official transcripts for all degrees and administrative courses.

Must submit all qualifications/credentials by the established deadline.

Previous experience in writing elementary education curriculum is preferred.

Must have ability to deliver professional development and coaching support.

Must have ability to disaggregate data to address curriculum/instruction gaps.

SALARY RANGE Beginning pay - $59,881.00 (Additional compensation for AA and DR)
