Booth students support the troops

Posted by Marcie McNeal in Schools  |  Comments (1)

During the month of December, Booth Elementary students demonstrated community service by sending treats and a Christmas banner to the brave soldiers aboard the USS Mason in Norfolk, Virginia.  The students wanted to show military men and women that they appreciated their commitment to our country.  Further, at Christmas time, they wanted to send a little Christmas joy to remind them that they are not forgotten!

The students' banner was a nice surprise for the troops and now it has been all around the world since the USS Mason deployed in July 2013.  After a long mission, the soldiers will return to the US with the banner next month.  Booth Elementary's project turned out to be a traveling 'thank you' to our military men and women for their courage and commitment to protecting our freedom.

What an amazing group of students and faculty. You are always generous, kind and willing to help others. I’m so proud of all of you.  I am so glad to have been a part of this group for so many years.  I love hearing about all the successes of the Booth team.
