Clark-Shaw students ace at the State Science Fair

Congratulations are awarded to the Clark-Shaw Magnet students for winning more awards than any middle school in South Alabama!  Not only did the school represent with the largest amount of students, but every Clark student placed, with most receiving multiple awards.

Student Ryan Corob won The Kids Discovery Award for the ability to communicate science, and a Broadcom Award which is an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. For a week to compete!

In addition, lead teacher, Mr. Glen Mutchnik is happy to report that the accolades keep moving forward, many of Clark-Shaw's students now attending Davidson HS swept most divisions, especially technology.

  • Ryan  Corob won 2 special awards  
  • Tate  Boone got three special awards     
  • Brooklyn  Massey one special award
  • Gabriella won the Boeing Award for Best Creative Presentation. She also won The Dr and Mrs Graeme Duthie Award for Best In Show sixth grade science project.
  • Hannah Burckhartt: BEST IN SHOW, ENGINEERING DIVISION as selected by  IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)

Division awards:

  • Botony/Zoology:  Ryan Corob- 1st Place
  • Botany and Zoology: Taylor Andry - 2nd place     
  • Botany  and Zoology: Brooklyn Massey- 4th place/Honorable Mention
  • Chemistry:  Gabriella Taylor- 4th place     
  • Engineering:  Madeline Forbes: HM
  • Environmental:  Richard Boone: 4th place
  • Engineering: Hannah  Burckhartt:4th place
  • Environmental: Gordon Mills-HM
  • Math and Computers: Elisabeth Turner- 2nd Place     
  • Medicine & Health: Olivia Freeman-HM     
  • Physical  science: Conor Barnes- HM

Congratulations to all of you!  A special congratulations goes out to Olivia Freeman.  She was one of my best PACE students at Collier, and  I am not a bit surprised that she is a winner!!!
