The Mobile County Public School System is pleased to recognize its 2012-13 Teachers of the Year.
Teachers, according to schools Superintendent Martha Peek, are the heartbeat of the school system.
"They are the ones who make the greatest and lasting impressions on our students," Peek said. "They touch their hearts and minds and it lasts a lifetime."
While teaching is one of the toughest professions, Peek said, it is one of the most important.
"Our teachers are to be admired," she said. "The value of our outstanding teachers is immeasurable."
Here are the names and photographs of the top teachers from each of the county's middle schools.

Middle school teachers and their administrators - the ones who really want to be middle school teachers and administrators - have many extra stars in their crowns! What a challenging age and stage of life!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the outstanding teachers above and the many others like them throughout our system. They are often unsung heroes!
