This year Pearl Haskew Elementary achieved Master School Status. This means that at least 85% of the classrooms were Model or Master Classrooms and at least 60% of those are Master Classrooms. As a resultof that, PHES will have a school-wide AR End of the Year Celebration. The theme for this year was “On Fire for Reading”. On May 17th, the Mobile County Water, Sewer, and Fire Protection Authority’s Fire Chief, Chief Morgan hasvolunteered to bring the fire truck and come cool off the students! Students who have reached their goal will be allowed to bring their bathing suits and play in the spray of the fire hose. Mrs. Ingram’s therapy dog Hiro, who is the AR mascot, will be attending this event as well. Every quarter students who met their goal had an opportunity to come read to Hiro in the library.

This is an awesome incentive for the Haskew students!!!!! I wish more elementary schools would reward their students for achieving AR goal, maybe the scores would be higher county and state!!! Way to go Haskew Elementary!
