Blount’s Ciera Johnson was chosen as the 6A girls’ Player of the Year, while Blount’s Divine Myles, Murphy’s Phillip Rankin, and McGill-Toolen’s T. J. Lang were the co-6A Players of the Year.
Blount swept the Coach of the Year awards, with Jeffery Pope getting the boys’ honors and Jarvis Wilson the girls.
Johnson scored 622 points as a freshman and, according to Wilson, will be one of the area’s top players. Myles, according to Pope, was a leader on the court and had a strong performance against McGill-Toolen.
Congratulations to Ciera, Divine, Coach Pope and Coach Wilson.
