Old Shell students gather goods for service project

Posted by Comm. Dept. in Schools  |  Comments (1)

The PACE classes of Old Shell Road have decided to support the Mulherin Custodial Home by performing a service learning project to gather goods for the residents who live there. The Mulherin Home is a nonprofit residential facility for people with developmental disabilities. The students will take a field trip to the Mulherin Home on April 11th, and will deliver the goods to the residents with the help of the Marine Corps League. This project will not only benefit the Mulherin Home, but will also instill an awareness of civic and community responsibility and involvement in our children that will last a lifetime.

While all donations are appreciated, the Mulherin Home staff has indicated that at this time the residents especially need shampoo, Ensure, and white bath cloths.

Please send donations directly to Old Shell Road Elementary, 3160 Heather St., Mobile, AL 36607, and students will come to the classrooms in the mornings to collect them. For more information about the Mulherin Home, visit www.mulherinhome.com.

If you have any questions about the project, please call the school at 221-1557and leave a message for Cydney Halliday, PACE teacher, or e-mail cmhalliday@mcpss.com. Thank you in advance for your support!
