Congratulations to Phillips Preparatory School language arts teacher Veronica McCullough, she has been awarded a $16,500 grant from The Crampton Trust - Regions Bank; the trustee is a Non-profit Organization operating in Non-Profit Foundations and engages in social services.
The donation was used to purchase an Apple iPad Learning Lab for the language arts computer center. The lab consists of 30 iPads and a charging cart that stores and charges the devices on four shelves with eight bays each.
Her goal is to utilize the iPads for their leading-edge technology, popularity, ease of use, and variety of applications. For example, students can access eBooks for research using the Apple iPad iBook application or create movie projects for visual assignments using the Apple iMovie application. This contribution will allow students in the classroom to have unrestricted access to an iPad to enhance their mental reasoning and social skills including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing. Since the course heavily depends on computer interaction, the lab will permit the language arts program to operate at maximum efficiency.
Many thanks to the Crampton Trust at Regions Bank for taking an interest in helping our students develop their language arts skills by way of a new Language Arts iPad Learning Lab. The company upholds a commitment to funding educational initiatives is for Mobile’s public and private schools.
