Dawes Intermediate's Character of Excellence Breakfast

Ms. Christy Melton, the school counselor at Dawes Intermediate organizes a Character of Excellence breakfast each month to honor students who were selected by their teachers for excellent character traits. 

Parents along with grandparents are invited to celebrate with their kids.  A special guest from the community is invited to talk to the students about the importance of having good character.  Dr. Peggy Nikolakis was the event's guest speaker and she talked about the importance of showing Respect.  Dr. Foster, School Board Commissioner, shared a special poem that he wrote many years ago and discussed how he was responsible for the entire school when he was a principal and now holds a greater responsibility as a school board member.  Congratulations to the following students recognized for their excellence:  

THIRD GRADERS 
Helaina Hamden, Sophie Glass, Andrew Sandlin, Averi Lammons, Kaylee Harris, Cheyanne Redden, Zane Stokes, Landon Jockish
FOURTH GRADERS
Emilee Hester, Jason Wicks, Josh West, Karlie Biedenharn, Connor Case, Brandon Black, Abby Blake 
FIFTH GRADERS
 Lilly Richardson, Morgan Roland, Hannah Barbour, Matthew Nicholas, Jadon Ray, and Jordan Botta.

Congratulations to the students who were recognized for their good character and to the wonderful faculty and staff at Dawes Intermediate School.  Ms. Melton, you are to be commended for the excellent way you have chosen to emphasize the importance of good character and respect for one's self and others.   Great job!

Dawes Intermediate School has a wonderful faculty and staff that includes an outstanding school counselor. We are so proud of Ms. Melton and for the students that are chosen to be recognized. Thanks for making Dawes Intermediate School an amazing place to learn and work!
