BROADWAY LIVE RIGHT HERE IN MOBILE
PRESENT AND FORMER MURPHY STUDENTS BROADWAY BOUND
They sing, they dance, and they love what they are doing. Seventeen current and former Murphystudents are going to Broadway and you have a chance to watch and listen to these talented students and help their dreams come true.
Friday, October 12 and Saturday October 13, this group of incredibly talented young people will perform Broadway Live, a collection of tunes from several Broadway shows. If that isn’t enough to get your toes tapping, and get your ears ready for a musical treat, how about dinner too?
This event is being held at the Moffett Road Baptist Church - 5555 Moffett Friday and Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm. It is being catered by Zea’s and you will be offered your choice of rotisserie chicken or beef, broccoli, roasted corn grits, red beans and rice, Caesar salad, a chocolate caramel brownie, cheese cake, sweet tea, water or coffee,.
Songs that will be performed include numbers from: Little Shop of Horrors, Once on this Island, Cats, Jersey Boys, Grease, Lion King, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Westside Story and Hairspray.
While in New York, the students will take six master classes with Broadway directors, choreographers, musical producers and vocal coaches. They will go through an audition, see three Broadway shows and study with the casts of those shows.
The Mobile County Public School System is proud of the fine arts programs and talent we have in our schools. You can see former students in theatre on Broadway now and someday, there’s a good chance you will be able to see the students that are performing this weekend.
Tickets are $25 which includes your fabulous dinner and wonderful performances by these talented students.
