Craighead Elemetary welcomed back Mrs. Emma Reed, former educator in the Mobile County Public School System.  During Mrs. Reed's tenure she served in teacher and principal roles for more than 40 years.

She served as motivational speaker at Craighead Elementary School's Teacher Institute. Mrs. Reed focused on the subject 'Mission Possible.' the school's theme for this year.

Mrs. Reed elaborated on the importance of each individual in the school and encouraged the faculty to keep working together for the children.

Mrs. Emma Reed has always been a person who sees the best in everyone.  I have known Mrs. Reed almost forty years and had the privilege of working for her while I was in college. When I became a band director at her feeder school,  she always encouraged her students to join the band and share what the  band experience would add to their life.   She is a role model, was a great mentor and I know her to be one of the best this school system has ever had.  Thank you Mrs. Reed for continuing to give!

Wow! Mrs. Reed is still at it...I should not be surprised, she was an EXCELLENT elementary principal during my grade school years at George Hall Elementary. She has fallen on my mind several times and I wondered if she was still alive. Mrs. Reed you inspired me to be the educator I am today. Thank you for being a positive role model in my life. I love you.
