In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the Mobile County Public School System must provide Supplemental Educational Services for eligible students attending eight of the schools designated as Title I Schools in Need of Improvement. Supplemental Educational Services are tutoring classes that provide additional assistance to a child at a time other than the regular school day. These services must support and be consistent with the instruction provided by the school.

Requests for the “Supplemental Educational Services (FREE TUTORING)” option must be made by completing the request form which was mailed to the parents on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Forms are also available at your child’s school. All requests must be mailed to the Supplemental Educational Services Office, 1 Magnum Pass Mobile, Alabama 36618 by Friday, September 26, 2012. The eight schools eligible to participate are Burns Middle, Denton Middle, Eanes Middle, Hankins Middle, Mobile County Training Middle, Pillans Middle, Washington Middle and Williamson High School.

As a service to the parents of these eight schools, Mobile County Public School System will conduct a Supplemental Educational Services Enrollment Fair on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., at Denton Middle School 3800 Pleasant Valley Rd. Mobile, Alabama 36609.

The purpose of this event is to provide parents with adequate information regarding each program to assist them in making an informed decision.

Parents of these eight schools are encouraged to attend the Enrollment Fair and to enroll their students in the services of their choice.
