N. Mobile County Middle forms winning robotics team

In September 2011, North Mobile County Middle School formed a robotics team, they call Titan Tech. With the help of Principal Randy Campbell, PACE Teacher Hailey Lovvorn, and Mentor Engineer Paul LePiane the team has grown to 36 members and has competed in a local and regional competition.

On October 29, 2011 the team, Titan Tech, placed 3rd in the robot category at the Jubilee BEST Robotics Competition at the USA Mitchell Center. This victory advanced them to the South’s BEST Regional Robotics Competition at Auburn University. On December 2nd and 3rd the team competed against 50 high school and middle school teams which were from 7 states across the U.S. The team finished in the top 25 and placed 19th out of 50 in the category of robot performance. Go Titan Tech!

6th Grade –Alex Caylor, Thai Hamilton, Jada Price, Moriah Parmer, Jesse Darrington, Patric LePiane, Alexis Brocato, Caitlin Crownover, Whitney Donald, Marquis Love

7th Grade – Nick Kritner, Cirsten Whigham, Amber Bolden , Alex Crownover, Andrew Barfoot, Bella Savell, Tyler Carbo, Ladarius Young, Anna Morton, Amber Armistead, Savannah Jordan, Hailey Goodrum, Alan Maples, Austin Parden, Willie Thomas, Fayth Purvis, Kamrym Etheridge

8th Grade: Melonee Bolton, Graci Daniels, Terrance Wheeler, Zach Cobb, Jordan Dunn, Kobe Mixon, Katie Clearman, Kalyn Cotton

I don't know if people realize what an undertaking this is and what an accomplishment it is to do this well in your first year of competition.  Ms. Lovvorn and her team did a phenominal job.  Congrats to all involved!!

Congratulations, Titan Tech!!!  We had such a good time competing at Jubilee BEST in October and enjoyed watching your robot perform.  You did a great job and deserved the bid to Auburn.  Look forward to seeing you next year....Semmes Middle Robodogs.
