Two hundred and forty classes from 26 Mobile County Public Schools competed to see who could collect the most food from Bay Area Food Bank's Annual "Kids CAN Help" Food Drive during National Food Bank Week. The winning class consist of eighteen students in Ms. Cindy Griffin's 4th grade class from Belsaw/Mt. Vernon School, who collected 549 pounds of food! Bay Area Food Bank hosted an award ceremony at the winning school, where Carnival Cruise Lines presented Ms. Griffin with a 5-day cruise to the Western Caribbean on Carnival Cruise Lines' fun ship, CARNIVAL ELATION! Carnival will also give the winning class a tour of the CARNIVAL ELATION, lunch aboard the ship, and left a replica model of the CARNIVAL ELATION to keep in their classroom until next year's National Food Bank Week Food Drive. Bay Area Food Bank serves the areas of South Mississippi, South Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.
