Dawes Intermediate School held a Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Sunday, September 10, 2010 to honor the new school building. School tours were provided by parent volunteers to School Board and community leaders, including Dr. Nichols, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Foster, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Mohr, Mr. Meredith, Mr. Megginson, Dr. Stout, Mr. Gaston, and Mr. Glover. During the tours, members of the community were able to speak with the faculty and staff and thirty of the Azalea Trail Maids. After the tours the Baker High School Color Guard presented the colors and a dedication ceremony commenced. During the ceremony speakers spoke about the impact that Dawes Intermediate School will have on the community and the future. To the delight of those in attendance, the Baker's Dozen performed several musical pieces. After the dedication ceremony, the crowd moved to the front courtyard of the school where Mr. Meredith officially cut the ribbon for Dawes Intermediate School. The faculty and staff at Dawes Intermeidate School is extremely grateful to all that were able to attend and look forward to working together in the future.
