School's Adopted Soldier Returns Home

Mrs. Lewis' fourth grade class at Forest Hill Elementary adopted a soldier for the 2009-2010 school year. SPC Bazan is a member of the ARMY Reserves bravely fighting for our country in Taji, Iraq these past 11 months. As you can imagine, being away from your family, (she has two very young daughters), and friends in such a remote area can be difficult. The school adopted SPC Latoya Clinton Bazan and were happy to send her Christmas greetings in the form of a care package this past December. All of the students gave in donations of personal hygiene items, books, cards, gifts, games, and puzzles to help make being so far from home less painful. SPC Bazan visited with Mrs. Lewis' homeroom class on May 19th, when she returned home from Iraq!

What a wonderful story ~ Thank you Mrs. Lewis for teaching our young students to appreciate modern day patriots!
