In March of this year a select group of Clark-Shaw Magnet students who were enrolled in French I took the National French Exam Thousands of students nationwide took this exam sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Of the 17 Clark-Shaw who took the exam, three placed within the top ten percent at the state level and two placed within the top ten percent at the national level. Eighth grader Kristen White placed 6th at the national level in category 1 B and eighth grader Obikoya Adetoyosi placed 7th nationally in category 1 B. Both of these students placed at the state level along with Stephen Wangondu who placed 10th in the state of Alabama. Category 1B is a category reserved for High School students or Middle School students taking French I for High School credit. Congratulations to these students and their teacher, Sondra Maniatis.

Congrats to all the Clark-Shaw students that placed in any place!! Every time I hear something that is great aboput Clark I remember how lucky i was to get a chance to be a part of Clark class of 09'!!!!!!
