Posted by Comm. Dept. in Schools  |  Comments (8)

The Alma Bryant Hurricane Band scored another "Superior" in the GMAC Bowl Parade, receiving the 1st Place award for local high schools.  The bands were judged in five categories, including professionalism, marching, sound quality, rhythm/dance/energy, and crowd response/applause, in front of the downtown Hampton Inn.  The Hurricane Band won a plaque and $200.

The Hurricane Band kicked off its Mardi Gras season by participating in the Island Mystics Parade on Dauphin Island on Saturday, January 23rd, at 1:00 p.m., and will also perform in the Crewe of Columbus Parade in downtown Mobile on February 12th.  The Hurricane Band has won parading awards from the Crewe of Columbus for four years straight!

YAY! I am glad you all won! I don't think we won that award when I was there from 98-02. I am proud of you. Keep up the good work.
