Westlawn Honors TIES Students

Westlawn Elementary School held its annual TIES Mentoring Club Banquet at the Bienville Club on Friday, May 14th at 11 am. This club is comprised up of 4th & 5th grade boys, mentors/professional business & community leaders, three advisors: Mrs. Yvonne Johnson; Mrs. Judith Dunning & Ms. Nonnie Parker, as well as the school administrator, Mrs. Lynda Finley. The T.I.E.S. meaning: "Togetherness Improves Everyone's Success"

Phillips Students Earn National Honors on Foreign Language Exams

Phillips students enrolled in French 1 and Spanish 1 recently participated in the national examinations for their respective languages.  Thousands of students nationwide participated in these exams, and 125 students from Phillips Preparatory earned state and national recognition.Eighth graders who took the National Spanish Exam earned 39 honorable mentions and 25 medals of achievement for exam scores ranking among the top scores in the nation.  Bronze medal were presented to Danielle...

Mobile Arts Council Features Bryant Student Art and Craft Show

Come see the beautiful show of art and crafts from students at Bryant! Weavings and Dreamings: Art and Crafts from Bryant High SchoolWork by students of Anne Rose and Darla WheelerWork by students of Anne Rose and Darla Wheeler will on display at Mobile Arts Council (318 Dauphin St.) until Friday, May 28. Dodge Students Help Animals Caught in the Oil Spill

Dodge Elementary Students collected Dawn dishwashing liquid and plastic gloves for the oil spill crisis. Three teachers, Mrs. Brewer(K), Mrs. Zirlott (K), and Mrs. Baldwin (3rd) set up drop off boxes in their roomsfor students to drop off Dawn and plastic gloves. Students and parents were encouraged to bring the items to help in the event of clean up. The DAWN and gloves will go to Tina Miracle at Bryant High School.  She is working to get the donations sent to needed oily bird...
