2010-2011 Magnet School Application Begins

Students interested in applying for the Mobile County Public School's Magnet School Program for the 2010-11 school year are urged to make application starting January 5, 2010 by visiting http://www.mcpss.com/ and clicking on the Magnet School's Program Application link. Parents needing assistance in completing an application for their child may go to any magnet school, and magnet personnel will be glad to assist in the application process. Calloway Smith Student Wins State Essay Contest

Congratulations to Calloway Smith Middle student, Deja Young.  Deja won the 2010 Alabama Gerontological Society's (A.G.S.) Essay/Calendar Contest!  The contest is sponsored by the Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco) and is opened to students from all over the state  Deja was one of the thirteen winners chosen.  Deja receives a $100 savings bond and her teacher, Ms. Della White will receive a $100 award to use in her classroom.

Bryant High Presents School Fundraiser - The Platters in Concert'

Student Writers-Sign Up for the 2010 Young Author's Conference

WHAT:  The 2010 Young Authors' Conference and Round Table.  This program gives young writers in grades 3-8 an opportunity to interact with an author and to participate in motivating writing activities.  Each year over 200 students submit writing for the Young Authors' Anthology and over 250 students, teachers, and family members participate in the Conference. The deadline for submitting registrations and writing is January 22. WHO:   The Metro Mobile Reading...
