Mission Statement:

The mission of the Department of Staff Development is to build district capacity to
effectively and efficiently improve student learning through a broad range of systemic,
intentional, on-going professional learning opportunities for MCPSS employees.

Seven Standards of Professional Development

A comprehensive schoolwide program provides high-quality, continuous staff development programs that improve the learning of all students to meet rigorous academic standards while organizing adults into continuous learning communities whose goals are aligned with those of the school and MCPSS in the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Plan.
